Almost immediately on leaving art school, I formed the Levellers with Mark Chadwick.
I dedicated all my creativity to that; doing the band's artwork as well as lyric writing. Then touring took over as we got bigger, so it was around ten years later that I finally had enough time + inclination to start painting again.
The ‘Early Days’ paintings are the fruit of that labour, from the later 1990s…
